Frequently Asked Questions

What are Giclée prints?
A giclée print is a fine art reproduction made on a professional inkjet printer with archival papers or canvas and pigment-based inks. The image must be at least 300 dpi to ensure sharp detail and accurate color. These standards give giclée prints their longevity, clarity, and value among artists and collectors.
Is there minimum order requirement?
We don’t require a minimum order, except for prints that are 8″ x 10″ or smaller. For these smaller sizes, we simply ask that you order between 4 and 8 at a time, since they’re more efficient to produce in groups. Of course, we also understand that sometimes you just need a single print—especially for online sales—and we’re always happy to help with that too.
Can you print from an image I took myself?
Yes, we can print from your submitted files, but image quality is critical for giclée printing. A true giclée requires a minimum of 300 dpi, along with a sharp, in-focus image free of motion blur or distortion. While phone or casual camera photos may work in some cases, they often fall short in capturing the fine detail and accurate color your artwork deserves. Our professional image capture service, by contrast, ensures flawless focus, perfect lighting, and superior resolution—resulting in prints with unmatched sharpness, richness, and fidelity. Please note, we will not print an image that cannot produce a quality giclée, as every print we create reflects the standard of our work. Choosing our capture service is the best way to guarantee your artwork is reproduced at the highest level.
Do you print business cards and wedding invitations?
No. That requires offset or digital printing. We print greeting cards for artists but, like giclée prints, they are made to last rather than throw away. We also print banners, posters, and adhesive vinyl for walls, windows, doors, etc. For offset printing, we partner with another local business.
What are the benefits of Giclée prints?
A giclée print can retain its rich color and detail for over a century with the right care. To extend its longevity even further, we recommend framing with UV-protective glass, applying an archival-quality UV-resistant canvas varnish (such as ours), and displaying it away from direct sunlight.
What is the billing process?
We use PayPal to issue quotes, invoices, and securely process payments. Invoices are sent directly to your email, giving you the convenience of paying online with any major credit or debit card, or, if you prefer, completing payment in person by card, cash, or check.
Additionally, graphic design projects require a 50% deposit.
How long will it take to receive my prints?
That all depends on the number of orders ahead of you. Typically, you can expect a 2 -5 day waiting period. If you have an unexpected time crunch, let us know and we may be able to expedite your order.
Do I need to make an appointment?
Because our business is home-based, we do appreciate advance notice when someone is coming.
